What materials can be used in an egg drop challenge without tape or glue?

AI Thread Summary
Participants in the egg drop challenge are restricted to using specific materials—balloons, toothpicks, string, paperclips, straws, cotton balls, pipe cleaners, rubber bands, paper, cups, newspapers, and plastic sheets—without any tape or glue. The challenge allows only five materials to be selected for constructing the egg protection device. Creative designs are encouraged, with suggestions that include using balloons for cushioning and straws for structural support. The discussion highlights the importance of balancing weight and protection to ensure the egg survives the drop. Overall, the focus is on innovative engineering solutions within the given constraints.

Our class is making an egg drop design but the rule is we can't use any tape or glue and we can only use these materials
Balloon, toothpick, string, paperclip, straw, cotton ball, pipe cleaner, rubber band, paper, cup, newspaper, and plastic sheet

we are only allowed to use about 5 of these. Theres a money system.

So I know that electrons are fundamental, there's no 'material' that makes them up, it's like talking about a colour itself rather than a car or a flower. Now protons and neutrons and quarks and whatever other stuff is there fundamentally, I want someone to kind of teach me these, I have a lot of questions that books might not give the answer in the way I understand. Thanks
