SUMMARY

The discussion centers on achieving a target temperature of 900°C in a furnace with a measured temperature of 909.2°C and a display temperature of 900°C, despite the absence of an offset option in the controller. Participants suggest using a reliable thermometer for accurate measurement and recommend creating a lookup table to correlate the desired temperature with the actual behavior of the furnace. Calibration procedures from the oven and controller manuals may provide additional insights. The conversation emphasizes practical experimentation as a solution to the calibration challenge.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of furnace temperature measurement techniques
  • Familiarity with temperature calibration procedures
  • Knowledge of creating lookup tables for temperature adjustments
  • Experience with reliable temperature measuring devices
NEXT STEPS
  • Research calibration procedures for specific furnace models
  • Learn about creating and utilizing lookup tables for temperature control
  • Investigate reliable temperature measuring devices and their accuracy
  • Explore advanced furnace control techniques without offset options
USEFUL FOR

Engineers, technicians, and operators involved in furnace operations, temperature control, and calibration processes will benefit from this discussion.

How to incorporate deviation -9.2C in furnace, while its measured temperature is 909.2C and Display temperature is 900. if there is no option of offset in controller. What will be the set temperature to achieve 900C.

Welcome to PF.

Can you post datasheets for the oven and controller? Do you have the Owners Manual and Service Manual for both? If so, there is probably some calibration procedure listed.

Also, what other temperature measuring device are you using to sense the "measured temperature"? Are you sure it is accurate?

This seems too simple, I must not understand something.

You have a thermometer you trust. You can't calibrate your controller. So, why don't you be the controller. Do some experiments and make a lookup table. Ask for the temperature that corresponds with the behavior you want.

PS: If you choose to have a lottery, I've got dibs on 890.8C.
