People are saying that they'd stop WWII or tell certain countries to do certain things to prevent wars and such... my question is, who would listen to you (assuming you couldn’t go bring technology from the present back with you)?

Gee, makes you think...how do we know those crazy sounding, homeless people out on the street corners who say they know the future aren't telling the truth? Maybe they're homeless because they just time-traveled in and got stuck, and now nobody will listen to them that they know the future and we can change things. :bugeye:
