Where to find the following information?

  1. Oct 16, 2006 #1
I have a soda/water bottle design coming up. And it requires me to find the proper shape that will have the minimum surface area. Do you know where I can find the related information on this? Where can I find some comparable models and so on? Any infor. will be helpful. Thanks.

Sounds a little bit homeworky, so I'll give you a hint.

The shape which has the maximum volume / surface area occurs frequently in nature.

You can easily calc out volume/surf. area for different shapes. You will converge on the most efficient very quickly.
