Which Books Best Teach Each Field of Study?

Hi all,

I was just wondering what everyone thought the best books were for example, for algebra, relativity, calculus, mechanics, general physics and so on.

Basicaly which book can teach you a field of learning with most understanding.

PS for me for example, a general physics book that I found rather comprehensive is serways physics for scientists and engineers, not sure about understanding though...
