I'm having trouble choosing my advanced papers. So I want to know which fields are saturated and which are the hot ones right now.

Hot fields can be found in high impact factor journals. But really hot fields are not published yet, and may appear in the next weeks! To guess the really hot topics, you would have to build your own intuition. To build it, just keep reading and preparing publications. Then, step by step, you find the place where you can really do something.
