The discussion revolves around members planning to celebrate New Year's Eve online, expressing feelings of loneliness and boredom due to a lack of entertainment options. One participant mentions having watched every episode of "The Twilight Zone" multiple times and being left without working DVD or VCR players. As the conversation progresses, members share their plans for the evening, with some expressing a desire to join each other online while others have social commitments. Humor is prevalent, with jokes about consuming Nyquil to celebrate and playful banter about personal experiences and movie-making. Members share links to their homemade films, which lead to discussions about their quality and humor, with some films being described as reminiscent of David Lynch's style. The thread captures a sense of community, with members wishing each other a happy New Year and sharing light-hearted moments despite some feeling unwell or stuck at home. Overall, the conversation reflects camaraderie and a shared experience of ringing in the New Year together, albeit virtually.

LOL! Gale's film had a very David Lynch quality to it. And I really liked the continually evolving character development of Zapper in tribdog's films.

Now that you mention it, they all have a David Lynch quality to them. The strange, long pauses, as someone opens and closes their mouth ten times in order to pronounce one syllable, the surreal settings, the shifting appearance of characters from film to film: all very dreamlike.

You're right. And I think the music selections enhance the Lynchiness as well.

Perhaps Tsu shouldn't see that one.

Perhaps it was all a near beer, nyquil and bean induced dream?

(I like Moonbear's new transport ability) :approve:

I know that all my recollections of the incident were nothing but a hallucinatory simple-partial seizure.

That's understandable, wait, I seem to be remembering things now, there WAS someone else in that tub...and it looked a lot like...IVAN!

It wasn't you and Ivan, it was ME and IVAN! But he was passed out on all that near beer.

Hi all, my name's Jay, after reading this entire thread I have to say you all seem like a great group of people. Looks as though you all had a Happy New Year.

I was also reading about your affinity for Disney and thought it would be funny to mention...I work on the Disney IT Help Desk  Here's my contribution:

Try not to panic. There's still time to shave your tongue before Tsu sees you.

 Zooby, you found your long-lost cousin! Awwrrr.

I just found my DVD of "Muppet Family Christmas"! WOOHOO! It's no longer being made and people that have it are ripping people off charging up to $144 for a copy of it on Amazon.com.

This is the one with the Swedish Chef and the icy patch. :!)

I need to buy a safety deposit box for it. :!) :!) :!)
