why there is a nodal surface in 2s suubshell ?
DrDu said:Energy rises the more the wavefunction wiggles. This also means more nodes
I do have a different but up to what extent its true i don't know i.e
1) as know that an atom is electrically neutral where the whole mass of nucleus is positive charge and the space around the nucleus has electrons which balance the positive charge of the nucleus so the positively charged nucleus attarcts strongly the negavetively charged electrons into the nucleus and may be the atom collapses
2)and if the electron is in continuous motion it emits energy and spiral down to nucleus
so the electron is confined to some region around nucleus so as to get attracted towards nucleus nor spiral into nucleus that is where wave function is positive and that is orbital and may in the nodal surface the electrons r not comfortable with their position so there no eletrons in nodal surface i.e wave founction -zero
I AM RIGHT?
