AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the proposal to wipe the database of private messages (PMs) and visitor messages (VMs) to reclaim space, as there are approximately 300,000 inactive entries. The administrator plans to notify members a week in advance to download any PMs they wish to keep. There is general support for the cleanup, with some suggesting a two-week notice instead. Additionally, the removal of old latex images is mentioned, which will also help free up space. Concerns about losing infraction PMs and the implications for members are raised, but overall, the community seems agreeable to the proposed changes.

If memory serves me well users can check their infractions just by visiting profile. I guess PMs will be lost.

That brings up an interesting point. Do members lose the PM's telling them what they were infracted for? And are they going to complain when they get their next infraction for the same thing?

This might affect a few members. Those it does might not even notice or complain.
