Yearly US Manufacturing Capacity 1946-Now

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on seeking specific data regarding the manufacturing sector's output in dollar terms, rather than employment figures or the number of companies. Participants express a preference for capacity metrics and reference various data sources, including the Federal Reserve. A peak in manufacturing employment is noted around 1980, with 19 million people employed. There is a mention of significant increases in production efficiency, with the U.S. reportedly producing three times the output with half the workforce compared to the 1970s, though this claim is not yet adjusted for inflation. The conversation also touches on U.S. population growth, highlighting a rise from approximately 150 million in the early 1960s to over 300 million recently.

what about the population of the US
from 1946-2011?
no applying the percentage of Americans
working in manufacturing.

and we passed 300 million recently.

Just ONCE, I wanted to see a post titled Status Update that was not a blatant, annoying spam post by a new member. So here it is. Today was a good day here in Northern Wisconsin. Fall colors are here, no mosquitos, no deer flies, and mild temperature, so my morning run was unusually nice. Only two meetings today, and both went well.
