SUMMARY

In mathematics, any non-zero number raised to the power of zero equals one. This includes the specific case of 8 raised to the power of zero, which is confirmed to be 1. The only exception to this rule is when the base is zero itself, as 0^0 is an indeterminate form. Therefore, the correct conclusion is that 8^0 = 1.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of exponentiation and its properties
  • Familiarity with real numbers and their definitions
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical notation
  • Concept of indeterminate forms in mathematics
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the properties of exponents in detail
  • Explore the concept of indeterminate forms in calculus
  • Learn about the implications of exponentiation in algebra
  • Investigate the applications of exponentiation in various mathematical fields
USEFUL FOR

Students, educators, and anyone interested in foundational mathematics, particularly those studying algebra and calculus concepts.

x^0 is a bit like x/x.

x^0 = 1, for all Real numbers, except 0.

Any quantity raised to the zero power is defined to be one.

8^0 = 1
