So the first question is:
A student standing on the platform of a railway station notices the first two carriages of an arriving train pass her in 2.0 s and the next two in 2.4 s. The train is decelerating uniformly. Each carriage is 20 m long. When the train stops, the student is opposite the...
Umm, so as far as I understand velocity is speed in a direction. So if I'm going North at X Km/h and another guy goes south, he'll go at -X Km/h.
So anyways, the formula for relative velocity, for example V(AB) is V(A)-V(B). So let's say two trucks are going at 70 m/s towards each other...
Now let's say I push a box. The box will accelerate (before stopping due to friction). But when I push the box the box 'pushes' me too. I heard that acceleration occurs only when there is a force imbalance. But if the two forces are equal, then how could this cause an acceleration?
Please...
So I was just reading on generators. The basics that I've understood is that it works by inducing a current through motion of a coil on a magnetic field.
So what I didn't understand was that it produces an alternate current through full 360` rotation. In a half cycle, it induces a current in one...
No, I'm not asking what language to learn, etc. I started learning python last year and i was wrapping my head around the basic concepts and even making some nifty programs.
However, one day I just got frustrated and gave up. I know frustration is common but I felt very stupid while...
Like I was reading Stephen Hawking and while I found quantum physics interesting, I had trouble truly understand it. I mean I know it's the study of very small particles and stuff like you cannot predict where an electron is if the more you know its velocity but I had trouble understand the why...

I thought that you all would enjoy reading the article above. It talks about how maths is an art and how many kids are being forced into thinking they're not good at maths due to the poor math education.
Your replies made me realize all the holes in my calculus knowledge. I've been taught calculus in school just through formulas so it looks like my concepts are very weak. I have no idea what to do about it because my textbook also only uses formulas.
