The one in the suit is from last year at Brownlow night (Aussie Rules Thing).
The one in the tights is from a couple of days ago, just got them and had to take a photo of how ridiculous i looked to send to dad.
hmm...ive looked it up in two textbooks now
The first one, Linear Algebra (LAY) - This is one was from 1st year - mentions non zero constant polynomials and says they have degree 0, but its talking about them in the context of the vector space P_n, so I am not sure if it would apply
My...
Yeah we had deg 0 = - infinity, but nothing defined about constants so maybe it was assumed...
anyway, thanks a bundle for sorting that out for me, now at least when I am in bed i won't be thinking about maths... : )
Yeah i know my attempt a a proof was pretty dismal...
Thankyou for your reply, i think that would be it. I am wondering does the degree of 1 (mult. identity) have to be 1? Maybe that is a stupid question, is it by definition deg 1 = 1...?
Hey
First off, my terminology in the title may not be correct or what others use because when searching the forums for "polynomial ring" i had a lot of trouble finding anything that matched what i meant when i coined the term...
By polynomial ring i mean, for some ring R the polynomial...
I wouldn't feel too embarrassed, how much do you ride?
at the moment my expenditure is something along the lines of
Bike: $3600
Shoes and Pedals: $450
Clothing: $1000
dont get me started on the amount spent on tudes, tires etc...
My next bike I am getting for my 21st in six months...
First off, yes i know you pay HECS back, my point was that it is much the same as a student loan from the US, but for tuition only. And, in my experience, MOST (not all) people who simply say they do not qualify for the government benefits because of their parents earnings have assumed that is...
First off, cheers for you responses, i was worried i had made my question too specific...
The class is a follow on from the class I am doing now Groups and Rings III. here's a description.
"At the end of this course students should:
have a knowledge of the structure of finite fields...
I don't understand where you are coming from on this one quark. I am studying undergrad in Aus and tuition is covered by HECS (from my understanding all aus citizens are eligible for this). In terms of living expenses, I get youth allowance and rental assistence from the government, so i have...
Hi
Hi
Im undergrad physics hoping to go into theoretical or mathematical physics. The course Photonics II clashes with one of my math courses Fields and Geometry III and I am told by my course advisor it isn't essential.
I don't mind doing missing a lecture a week of my maths course to...
either way. "shifting or not" at the point (0,0), isn't (x'(t),y'(t)) = (0,0) that's just the nature of the curve at that point...im starting to wonder how anything you do could stop that happening...
im sorry. i think i understand what you mean by "shifting" t, but in which equation (i understand you are trying to make me think more about this)...
at pi/2,
(x(t),y(t)) = (-2,2)
at pi/4
(x(t),y(t)) not = (0,0)
so i don't understand why these points would be of significance...
for the Curve defined in polar coordinates as r=2(1-cos(t)), t in [0,2pi] show it is not a C1 curve but is a piecewise C1 curve
My notes say for a parameterisation (x(t),y(t)) to be C1 both x(t) and y(t) must be C1 and (x'(t),y'(t)) not = (0,0)
using parameterisation...
Someone said very early on in this thread that engineering used sciences and maths as tools which is what distinguished it from doing sciences and maths.
I have found this to be an important distinction. I started off doing an aerospace engineering and science (physics) double degree only to...
