Ok, thanks for taking the time to reply, just to let you know it can sometimes take time for things to "click in my head" lol.. I am still confused, so can I break it down and show you where I am at...
I understand the last bit as you have canceled out one of the x's from the top and bottom...
Hello,
Ive was reading my literature today and it showed me some algebra, which i did not understand how it went from one step to the next...
What was done to simplify
V= x^2 ( 75-x^2 / 2x ) into V= x/2 ( 75-x^2 )
& then what was done to simplify ^^^
V= x/2 ( 75-x^2 )...
oh man of course it is... because its a linear eqaution right?
so if it were y>x-2
you would plot y=x-2
and the same as y>x
you would ploy y=x
so that's diagonal 1234567 etc...
thanks
Homework Statement
Use a sketch graph to show the region defined by y<2 and y>x
The Attempt at a Solution
y<2 is easy as its anything below y=2...
but I am totally stuck on y>x.. How can I know what y is if i don't know what x is??
thanks for any help
p=-5 q=-25
I find it quicker to half the x term... so there's your p straight away -5
and then sqaure p so -5^2 = 25 and you need +0 so its -25...
another example is
x^2 - 6x + 30
so again half -6 is p= -3
then again square -3 = 9
and i need 30 so 9+21 q =21
Hello all, I am new here and I am currently studying IGCSE Math. Hope you can explain something to me.
I have what you may think is a basic question... I just wanted to query it.
Its to do with cancelling out brackets.
so
2x-(x+3) = 2x-x-3 = x-3
I think I...
