Power series method of solving ODE

I cann't get it that way. I think i need to use the macclurin series so that sin^2 will be in terms of x. Pls any other suggestion?

Power series method of solving ODE

Please can somebody help me with this problem y" + y' + sin^2(x)y - 2sinx = 0 I used power series method and i used the macclurin expresion for sinx but i was not able to get a recurrence formula.

How can I find two linearly independent solutions for 4xy''+2y'+y=0?

You have to assume a solution as you have been advised You don't need to divide by 4x. When you assume the solution you will find d second and first derivatives of y, you will then subtitute into the equation. I solved it and that's the way it goes.
