Why would I die when I jump out of a plane?

    1) Guns kill people. 2) It's not the guns that kill you, it's the bullets. 3) It's not the bullets that kill you, it's the hole. 4) It's not the hole that kills you, it's the loss of blood and failed organs. 5) It's not the loss of blood and failed organs that kill you, it's the lack of...

Why Does Ice Cream Soften Differently Than Bread in the Microwave?

Melted icecream tastes way better than frozen ice cream! Being at room temp releases the flavors! o/

Why Does Oil Float Above Water?

I heard if you boil water and let it cool down again, it removes a lot of oxygen in the water, thus making oil sink, instead of floating. So maybe oil is denser than pure water, (H2O, nothing else) but not tap water?

Neutron Star Matter & Planet X: What Could Be Lurking Closer?

*grabs a hard hat and pickaxe* *goes to mine a sun for diamond* Don't worry. I'll go when it's night time. Great find there! And yes, you're right. Some are unstable, Nereid. I guess we'll have to wait to find out.

Neutron Star Matter & Planet X: What Could Be Lurking Closer?

I'd like to point out diamonds. Once was coal, under heat and pressure it turns into diamonds. REMOVE the pressure and it doesn't turn back into coal. It may be the same with this, it may not. It's about the same as bringing a container of gas up from the bottom of the deepest sea...

Black Holes: Compression of Mass & Movement at Absolute Zero

Matter under pressure = heat? Heat = particles that are moving? Black holes = matter under exstream pressure but too dense to move?? Me = confused.

    Conducting Electricity: No Wire Transfers?

Reminds me of SimCity, when the microwave beam misses its power station's receiver. Things go ka-boom. :)

Containers Structurally Able to Hold Freezing Water?

A normal tin can is able to withstand 13636 tons of pressure?? o_O

This is probably going to sound retarded, but

"Of course, that means you'd have to accelerate the entire universe... good luck with that." That's not what he's saying. We are currently moving very very fast. If we was to slow down, we would age slower.

Exploring the Mysteries of Black Holes: The Gravity and Light Paradox

Okay, I'm proberly missing something very silly, but if gravity is thought to go the speed of light, how come it can escape a black hole, and light can not?

Questions on Artificial Black Holes: Evaporation & Certainty

What is a mini black hole, and how much smaller is it to a normal one? And as to what happens, it depends on how much mass there is.

Does Weight Increase Impact Severity in Collisions at Constant Speeds?

15 mph does seem slow. What if the object was going at 1 mph, how heavy would it need to be to brake bones when it swings into you?

    Faster Than Light Theory #759310

Okay, I'm proberly very wrong on many things of the following, also, I know no theory can be good with too many IF's, but here goes. IF, some how, we made a portable gravity well of some kind. IF this gravity well was strong enough to make the pull of 1000 G's, over the entire ship. IF...

Is 0.9~ equal to 1 in mathematical calculations?

    Okay so most of us know 0.9~ = 1, correct? We find this by doing 1 devided by 3. This makes 0.3~ 0.3~ * 3 = 0.9~ So 0.9~ = 1. As most of us know. But would not 0.3~ = 0.4? Then it would be 0.4 * 3 = 1.2? So 1 / 3 * 3 = 1.2? ¬_`

A question about water and wood.

Well that's that asnwered :) thanks. Question acually seems rather silly now that I think about it. Anyway to lock this topic?
