It is, I'm doing an undergrad MPhys. (does that mean it should be in the homework section? if so, my appologies)
I'm measuring the change in susceptibility (which can be explained in terms of the change in skin/penetration depth).
Thanks
Jack
Thanks nbo10, I think I can get that book, and it sounds about right.
WRT the surface resistance thing - that's a term I'm not familiar with. Do you mean the resistance when takng the skin depth into account? I'm not operating at a particularly high frequency (10MHz).
Cheers
Jack
You don't need to know (unless the question asks for them?). It is possible to work out L by using the two equations I gave together.
g is the accelaration due to gravity is 9.81ms-2, Mass is unknown, but could also be found from the two equations I gave.
It looks like you are trying to work out the centre of mass treating the car like it is two separate weights, placed at the front and back wheels. I don't think that will work very well. Here is how I would approach the problem, assuming you have learned about moments. If you haven't learned...
Thanks f95toli, I can get hold of a copy of Tinkham from somewhere, so I'll have a look.
I'll try to explain what I mean by typical:
As a dissertation project, I've built a tunnel diode oscillator to measure the Tc of superconductors. It works by measuring the inductance change in a coil...
Hi All
I'm looking for a table of Tcs and normal state resistivities for a selection of 'typical' superconductors. I'm sure such a thing must exist in literature, but I'm having trouble locating it.
Specifically, I've just finished a dissertation project developing a measurement technique...
EDIT: OK, so I was replying to a post pushing some curvefitting software, which got deleted as spam, but I'll leave my post here as the info may be useful.

Hi Berkeman
Sorry for the delay in replying, I ended up traveling home for christmas, so no internet.
Cheers for looking, but that doesn't really have the detail I need. And I'm a few thousand miles too far east to take up your generous offer to lend a curve tracer. I managed to borrow a...
Hi All
Anyone know where I might find the IV curve for a General Electric BD-5 tunnel diode? I have found a few short datasheets for the BD series, but I really need a curve.
Does anyone know where to find such a thing? Or should I just get the SourceMeter out and make one myself...
Hi All
First post, so: Hi
I'm in the final year of a MPhys Physics degree at St Andrews Uni, and I expect to do pretty well. I've been thinking about going in for the nuclear industy beacuse I'm a bit of an idealist, and I really think nuclear power will help the UK. The problem is...
