Hi Everyone
I have a PICDEM 2 Plus board with a PIC18F4620 on it. My UART code is given. The code worked perfectly fine the first time i programmed my chip but stopped working after that.
With Hyperterminal the error is : "Unable to open COMPORT 1. Please check your port setting"...
Heya Everyone :blushing:
Im slightly confused as to how LC phase shift oscillator work ?
Its a circuit consisting of 1 op-amp ( used as oscillator), 1 LC loop, few resistors. The op-amp has a reference voltage applied to the non-inverting end (+ve).
The inverting end has a feedback...
Thanks for that vk6kro
Im still a bit confused as to how that circuit works. Let me divide that circuit into 3 parts:
1) Oscillator: Does this provide the alternating current the LC circuit needs to oscillate at resonant frequency? Does it also modify the frequency as the L in the...
Hi all
Here is the circuit that I will refer to: LINK : http://electronics-diy.com/lc_meter.php
Ok my first question, Why do we need a voltage comparator (LM311) there? A voltage comparator compare the + and - voltages and output the difference??
What I want to do is, measure the inductance...
Hi All
As the title of this thread suggest, I am looking for ways to recognize patterns in an analog waveform. Well the obvious answer to this question is use Artifical Neural Network (ANN) as ( from the text on google) its been used for pattern recognition and all sorts of stuff. I've been...
Thanks vk6kro. I get your point. But what I am wondering about is- is it the way we interpret the magnetic profile of a vehicle over loop that causes the error / or the electronics in the relay?
I have found that loops undercount and overcount a lot leading to errors- hanging on ( relay output...
Hi all
Well I tried googling this but could not find a satisfactory answer , so here I am seeking help from all you experts
So my question is regarding inductive loop sensors used on the road to give presence, vehicle classification etc information. These inductive loops are...
Thanks guys !
I am not an electrical engineer so I always choose a way with simpler circuits :-p That PLL and that metal detector circuit made me  But sometimes I have no way but to get my hands dirty with EEE stuff :-p
I found an example on using MATLAB to get scope's frequency...
Thanks for such quick replies :)
Ok I will explain in detail the purpose of this experiment. The LC circuit I made consists of a known capacitor ( 1nF) and an inductive loop (made by 3 turns of copper wire). I will make the circuit oscillate at its resonant frequency. Now when the circuit is...
Heya Everyone
Ok so my question may seem a little silly but nevertheless I will ask. I need to know what you experienced engineers think about it.
I have a series LC circuit (on breadboard) - connected to a function generator ( 2V p-p, 1kHz) - I will connect an oscilloscope across the...
Thanks berkeman and es1
The issue I have with the loop is that it just does not detect fast moving vehicle. I don't know why is that. I would be doing some experiments with a real inductive loop myself shortly and hopefully will figure out the reason behind it. :)
Heya Everyone
I decided to do some experiment with an LR circuit. I have an inductor in series with a resistor connected to a function generator. I will set the frequency to the resonant frequency of the circuit. Now, I will change the inductance of the inductor by bringing in a conductor...
Hello Everyone
I am currently studying the inductive loop detectors used in the traffic control department. I believe the data from the detectors is highly unreliable and noisy. A lot of research has been going on on the 'Fault detecting algorithm' and other means to improve the accuracy of...
