Is Quantum Mechanics Tried, True, Wildly Successful, and Wrong?

What do you guys think?? --------- Tim Folger A skeptical physicist charges that his field has been wandering in a philosophical wilderness for 80 years. The good news: He thinks he knows the way out. Antony Valentini has never been happy with quantum mechanics. Sure, it's the most...

Comprehensive Guide to Mechanical Device Properties

I am looking for a table or resource of any kind that can break down properties for me for different devices such as Steam Turbines, Pumps, Nozzles, Diffusers, Throttle, Condenser, Heat Exchanger, etc. Basically like for a pump it would be 1inlet 1exit Mi=Me(constant mass flow)...

Simple geometry problem but only using geometry

THE PROBLEM given EAD = 15 degrees ADE = 15 degrees its a 10 by 10 square you can only use geometry to solve this problem, NO TRIGONOMETRY. Supposedly it can be done...I've been trying! The Attempt at a Solution angle ABC = angle DCE by symmetry angle EBC = angle ECB by...

A set and subset. Can anyone explain what the difference?

I see what you are saying, but let me see if I can understand this logic. If B is a subset of C then all members of B are also members of C. If all members that are in A are contained in B then wouldn't that imply that all the members in A are part of C. So saying A \in C is not correct...

A set and subset. Can anyone explain what the difference?

    REVISED: If A \subseteq B and B \subseteq C, then A \subseteq C. But if A = {3}, B={{3},5}, and C = {B, 17}, then A \in B and B \in C , but A NOT \in C. The set C has exactly two members, and it is easy to see that neither of these members is a set of A

A set and subset. Can anyone explain what the difference?

Homework Statement If A is a subs4et of B and B is a subset of C, then A is a subset of C. But if A = {3}, B={{3},5}, and C = {B, 17}, then A is contained in B and B is contained in C, but A is not contained in C. The set C has exactly two members, and it is easy to see that neither of these...
