anyone know how to find the spectral line width given the wavelength of the ejected photon, the energy values for the atom (usual hydrogen e values) and the lifetime in the excited state.
any help much appriciated!#
cheers all

hey all, posted this before but no one managed to get it?
question off a past paper that it can't do.../
state pauli exclusion principle (can do that) and explain its consequence in an atom (can do that). Use it to determine the values of n, l ml and ms of 10 neon atoms placed in a box at...
hey all!
does anyone know the conditions a well behaved wavefunction (phi) must satisfy for all x? and any physical justifications for them?
is it something to do with continuity at boundaries? or to do with the differential of the wavefunction?
cheers for any input

CCD readout noise problem!
Hello all!
does anyone know how to calculate the readout noise of a ccd?
i have found values for proffesional and amateur ccds on the net but as far can't find any method of calculation. what does the value depend on? charge transfer time? number of electrons...
uncertain about this??
evenin' all!
wonder if anyone can help...
the question is this-
(sorry by the way if this is wrong place to post this, bit of a newbee!)
an electron has 100eV of kinetic energy, its incident on a potential barrier of height 110eV. At what distance x does the...
