UofT for Physics Is it really that bad?

UofT for Physics... Is it really that bad? I've been searching a lot of the old posts about the undergrad physics program in UofT and got the sense that people are miserable their because their GPA's are kept really low. I'm going to accept an offer to either Waterloo or UofT before May 28, and...

Mathematica U of T's 'Math and Physics' and Waterloo's 'Mathematical Physics'

I'm wondering if there's anyone who knows anything about this. In U of T there's a http://www.artsandscience.utoronto.ca/ofr/calendar/prg_mat.htm" (Scroll to the VERY bottom.) I'm wondering if it is a double major in physics and math or not? If not, then will it be more of a degree in Math OR...

Physics at Waterloo or U of T: Which is the better choice?

I'm going to apply to university in the next few months, and I plan to go to Waterloo for physics or for their mathematical physics program. my other choice would be Queen's. U of T never even occurred to me, reading the thread "physics in Ontario" makes it seem that it should be my one of my...

What is the Most Rational and Logical Form of Government According to Science?

But aren't political views like conservatism (e.g. protecting family values and religion) are just irrational and are only based on what your parent's generation thinks is 'good'

What is the Most Rational and Logical Form of Government According to Science?

I was looking around the net and searching up political views, and was thinking; based on a purely rational and logical scientific standpoint, what is the best form of government? I am thinking that a Libertarian view would be inevitable for society in the future, and is the only logical one...

Against Realism: Examining the Meaning of Local Realism

    1. What does realism mean to you? Realisim to me is what your mind percieves. 2. Einstein said: "I think that a particle must have a separate reality independent of the measurements. That is: an electron has spin, location and so forth even when it is not being measured. I like to think...

Blackhole Physics: Can Particles Escape Event Horizon?

does one of the particle-antiparticle pair have to tunnel out of the space near the event horizon in order to get out and get recorded as hawking raditation? because won't parts of the wavefunctionof the pair that will escape be kind of in the event horizon.
