Strange Lights Spotted After Power Outage

In summary, a power surge in Arizona caused a massive outage affecting up to 65,000 people. Some have speculated that strange lights in the sky at the same time may be linked to the disturbance. The Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant shut down all 3 units due to the outage. Photos of the lights have been circulating online, though the linked video may not be available at the moment. Some are suggesting the lights could be caused by glowing kites, balloons with lights, or firework displays.

(CBS 5 News)---It was a power surge that left up to 65-thousand Arizonans in the dark one week ago. Now, some are pointing to strange lights in the skies as a possible link to that massive outage. The disturbance was large enough to shut-down all 3 units at the Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant. About the same time as this massive power outage some people in the West Valley spotted something strange hovering in the sky.[continued]

I can't view the video, but the photo's were more interesting than most.

What does the video show, about movement and distance and such?

you know, the more and more I look into this stuff the more and more I start believing it. A bunch of glowing kites? Balloons with lights? Those firework things that do the same thing?

FAQ: Strange Lights Spotted After Power Outage

1. What could be causing these strange lights after a power outage?

There are a few possible explanations for this phenomenon. One possibility is that the power outage caused a surge in electricity, which can sometimes result in strange lights or flashes. Another possibility is that the power outage temporarily disrupted certain electrical systems, causing them to emit unusual lights or sparks. Additionally, some types of equipment may have backup power sources that kick in during a power outage, which could also explain the strange lights.

2. Are these strange lights dangerous?

In most cases, these strange lights are not dangerous. However, it is always important to exercise caution and follow proper safety protocols during a power outage. If you notice any unusual smells, sounds, or other signs of danger, it is best to contact a professional to assess the situation.

3. Can these strange lights be a sign of a bigger problem?

In some cases, these strange lights can be a sign of a larger electrical issue. If you experience frequent power outages or notice other unusual electrical activity, it is best to consult a professional to determine the cause and address any potential safety concerns.

4. Will these strange lights continue after the power is restored?

In most cases, the strange lights will stop once the power is fully restored. However, if the cause of the lights was a surge or other issue with the electrical system, it is possible that they may continue. If you notice any ongoing strange lights or other electrical issues after a power outage, it is best to contact a professional for assistance.

5. How can I prevent these strange lights from happening again?

To prevent these strange lights from happening again, it is important to properly maintain and update your electrical system. This includes regularly checking and replacing any outdated or faulty equipment, as well as following safety guidelines during a power outage. It may also be helpful to consult with a professional to assess the overall health of your electrical system and make any necessary updates or repairs.
