Airplanes cannot reach the speed of light, and thus cannot function as time machines in the way often imagined. While time dilation is a well-established phenomenon, it only allows for forward time travel relative to slower objects, not backward time travel. The speed of an airplane does not combine with the speed of air to exceed the speed of light, as relativistic velocity addition shows that the sum remains below this limit. Although any moving object experiences time differently, the practical implications of this effect are minimal. Ultimately, the concept of using airplanes or air moving at light speed to create a time machine is not feasible.
