So at 2 Amps, the B field = the Earth's Magnetic Field
B for the Earth is between 30 - 60 microteslars I'll use 30, since 60 is for near the poles.

[tex] 0.003 = \mu_0 n 2 [/tex]
[tex] n = \frac{0.003}{2\mu_o} [/tex]
gives me the number of coils to be:
1193.7
seems a large number of coils, even for a solenoid?
