Question on Magnetic polarization

Is it possible to hear/record the sound created by the shifting of the alignment of magnetic dipoles when introduced to an external magnetic field?

I believe that for some materials, this shifting causes friction which in return produces sound. Has anyone done this before?

Once I saw (or rather heard) an experiment on this topic. If I understand it right, you don't have to wait for dipoles to cause mechanical vibrations. With a microphone you can get sound directly from moving dipoles, because they cause changing magnetic field which induces voltage in the microphone.
