I am designing an experiment to characterize a manufacturing process over a limited range of process parameters. There are two independent variables and one dependent variable.

X1 ranges from 1 to 14 and X2 ranges from 1000 to 2000.
Are there any free software packages I can download that will help me choose parameters for my experimetal matrix? Or could someone refer me to a textbook or website that would assist in experimental design?

I would like to limit the number of parameters I consider to 10-15 (the number of experiments is limited by the amount of material I currently have).

Thanks for any help you can offer!

There are a variety of software packages available for experimental design, though some are more costly than others. Some of the most popular ones include JMP by SAS, Design-Expert by Stat-Ease, and Minitab. All of these packages provide tools to help you choose parameters for your experimental matrix. Additionally, there are many books and websites that can provide guidance and assistance in experimental design. Some good resources include: - "Design and Analysis of Experiments" by Douglas Montgomery - "Statistical Design for Research" by Leslie Kish - "Design of Experiments with MINITAB" by Glenn C. Davis - "Applied Statistics for Engineers and Scientists" by Devore You may also find useful information from the American Statistical Association (ASA) website, which provides guidance on creating an effective experimental design.
