I intend to work in the field of designing optical systems..
I do have access to OSLO and Zemax.. but I need to obtain a tutorial in that as well, although the manuals are a great help but I guess a training session is essential.
It'd b great if u could also suggest training courses for the same.
what is the effect of placing a slit of say one tenth of an inch infront of a laser beam (3 inch dia )with a divergence of say one degree upon the divergence of the emanating beam?(slit placed symmetrically along the beam axis) ? would the emanating beam also be of the same divergence ?
i have a camera with 1/3 " format. I have a cctv lens in front of it with a focal length of 50mm. In order to improve my FOV i intend to use a cctv lens of a smaller focal length, and the vendor is providing me a smaller focal length for a 2/3 " format. i want to know if a cctv of say 25mm...
I wish to understand the intensity profile of a lambertian scatterer.
how can a surface look the same when viewed from any angle, when its intensity profile shows that the intensity decreases with the viewing angle?
i have a camera with the horizontal field of view as 40 cm, and vertical around 30 cm noted at around 5m from the camera.
I wish to increase the FOV of the camera. Please suggest me a few ways to accomplish that.
thanx
i have two optical lens assemblies performing separate functions individually. Now I want to allign their optical axis .. how do i achieve the alignment?
(actually i want to allign them back to back and ensure that their optical axes are concordant, if not overlaping ,then atleast parallel )
I don't intend to reduce the beam divergence.. i want 2 increase the spot size .. beam expanders can help me achieve that (bigger spot size )with an additional advantage of a reduced divergence. but m not interested in following that approach.
PLease see if you could help me over this..
I have a laser beam emanating from am aperture of 50 mm dia. The beam divergence being 0.4 mrad. If i now choose a situation where say instead of the conventional beam expander design to expand the beam size and reduce the beam divergence, i choose...
I am not at all convinced about focusing along one axis .. trying really hard 2 comprehend, but the concept of a cylindrical lens is not sinking in. I am having tough time understanding the BASIC physics behind it. Consider me to be the most dumb student and help me over this.
tnx
if a cylindrical lens is put in the path of a laser beam what is expected to be seen at its focal plane? how will the beam look like after emerging from it?
