If you need to write text anywhere in the matrices use \mbox{the text you need}
for example
\[ \left( \begin{array}{cc}
a & b \\
c & d \end{array} \right),\mbox{the text you need} \]
Hello!
I have matrices in my LaTex document. LaTex automatically gives order number to all equations, but it doesn’t numerate matrices. Could you help me and say how I could automatically numerate matrices as equations. Beforehand thank you.
Dear David
Did you found any simple command in LaTex for your 2nd question regarding splitting of the long equation in the brackets? I have the same problem now. Beforehand thank you.
