Understanding Volumetric Efficiency and Beyond 100%

Because the screw type blower I am using will fill the cylinders with ~1.8 times atmospheric pressure starting at about 2000 RPM and doesn't stop until ~ 6000 RPM (my redline) due to the high-flow heads and slightly hotter cam I am using. Based on some data logs I have, I can only verify 2500 -...

News Bush Reverses Position on Judicial Review: New Era?

Dubya is even more hated than Cheney right now - something I never thought possible since Cheney is the human form of Satan on this planet. Negative ratings: Bush - 58% Cheney - 53% I think the combined negative rating of 111% is telling though (multiply by 6  )

Can it hurt an engine's performance by having to big of a throttle body?

Note that throttle bodies are typically flow rated where the restriction causes 28" H2O (about 1 psi) of pressure differential across the throttle body. You'll notice on the Accufab website where you got that data that the same 75mm TB flows only 390 cfm with 5" of pressure drop across it. On a...

Understanding Volumetric Efficiency and Beyond 100%

Funny, my 302 has 170% VE from 2000 to 6000 RPM  Amazing how the cam designers can design a cam to trap more air than the cylinder can hold under static conditions (in a narrow RPM range). I cheated & put a positive displacement supercharger on my 5L.
