Graduate Proving Q = gradP + Sr for Splitting Vector Field B
But so, what do you think about it? What's the reason to have that kind ov vector decomposition?!- Cunicultor

Graduate Proving Q = gradP + Sr for Splitting Vector Field B
Sorry not making it clear since the beginning; T,S,P are scalar functions B,A,Q are vector functions r stands for radial vector Rham cohomology ? I never heard about it... I don't think it would required such a complex thing, anyway...- Cunicultor

Graduate Proving Q = gradP + Sr for Splitting Vector Field B
The question is about the decomposition of any divergenceless vector field, B, in Poloidal and Toroidal parts. It says in one paper that I've been reading "Since B is solenoidal, it can be split into toroidal and poloidal parts, BT and Bp: B=curl(Tr)+curlcurl(Pr)" I cannot find the way of...- Cunicultor

Graduate Decomposition of a Divergenceless Vector Field
Viva! I usually come upon this statement: " Since B is solenoidal, it can be split into Toroidal and Poloidal parts, i.e, B=Bt+Bp, where Bt=curl(Tr) and Bp=curlcurl(Pr)" How can I prove this?? I think it is somehow related with the stokes theorem... Looking forward for...- Cunicultor

Graduate Differences Between Real and Complex Spherical Harmonics in Signal Rotation
I've got the Morse and Feshbach book just here. There's nothing there that can help. Anyway, I've just derived myself the orthogonality relations; it's true, they are diferent by a scale factor from those for the complex SH. I just wanted to know if it is correct. Please take a look at...- Cunicultor

Graduate Differences Between Real and Complex Spherical Harmonics in Signal Rotation
Cheers! But what I was really looking for were those orthogonality relations for the Real SH. I've been looking in "Arfken" and also in "www.wolfram.com", but I didn't get much. ...- Cunicultor

Graduate Differences Between Real and Complex Spherical Harmonics in Signal Rotation
Viva! I wonder if anyone could explain me the difference between real spherical harmonics (SH) and complex SH. What's the difference in doing an expansion in either situations? And what are the orthogonality relations for each case? Any help would be great...( websites, books..)...- Cunicultor

Gram-schmodt Orthogonalization
does anyone know the code to implement this process? visual basic code would be great. i'm just trying to make my basis orthogonal, and so i thought about this. i already got a piece of code, but i would like to compare with others; i have to say that my program is not working that well...- Cunicultor

What is Geostrophy and its role in the Earth's core-mantle boundary?
Geostrophy---> what is it? Can someone leave some hints about this subject?... What is in fact geostrophy, and what are the implications of a geostrophic flow at the core-mantle boundary? Are there any articles available?- Cunicultor
