Neutralizing H2S- Rendering Hydrogen Sulfide in the air into a non-toxic state
H2S is really nasty stuff. This is the reason that the masks for it are so expensive. A fire extinguisher filled with a chemical wouldn't work, because while you spray forward, H2S is circulating behind you. Get a PAPR/SCBA apparatus approved for H2S (NOT JUST "RESCUE ONLY") and get proper... -

Pt. Mass and Spring rotating on table
Ok, Well somehow I figured it out. d) 0.93m Though it was by complete chance that I got the right answer. I was taking my conservation of momentum equation and was playing w/ the potential energy in the spring in the KE conservation eqn. So, it's not so big of a deal now, but if someone...- d843

Toy Cannon: Calculating the Projectile Speed
Are you sure you are supposed to use ... - fk(x+d)? if you use mv^2/2 = kx^2/2 - fk(x) instead, it will give a v of 1.40 m/s I think the problem was trying to help you-it gave you the TOTAL distance the projectile has to travel in the barrel. I tried to make a diagram below, I'm not sure it...- d843

Pt. Mass and Spring rotating on table
A mass of m = 3 kg is tied to a point by a massless spring with spring constant k = 14 N/m. Assume the spring has an unstretched length of zero. The mass is pulled a distance of d0 = 0.5 m from the center and given a speed of v0 = 2 m/s perpendicular to the spring. (The mass slides on a...- d843
