Solving Equation: (1/x)^x - x = 0
Yes I noticed that just by looking but didn't know how to show. Will you show how to come to that? Thanks Daniel- DCASH88

Solving Equation: (1/x)^x - x = 0
(1/x)^x-x=0 (1/x)^x=x xln(1/x)=lnx lnx=xln(1/x) lnx=x(ln1-lnx) lnx=x(0-lnx) lnx=-xlnx x=-1- DCASH88

Need help with a series (radius, convergence)
however i tried it real quick and got 4x not x/4. I could be wrong but it might be worth a double check.- DCASH88

Need help with a series (radius, convergence)
-1<x/4<1 so to solve for x multiply everything by 4 which gives -4<x<4 so the interval is -4,4 but we don't know if it is a closed or opened interval. To determine this plug -4 in for x in the original series and find if it converges or diverges if it converges it will be a bracket on the -4 if...- DCASH88

Need help with a series (radius, convergence)
I was taught to start these problems with the ratio test. Then when you take the limit as n approaches infinity you can factor out the x. If the limit is 0 the radius is infinity and if the limit is infinity the radius is 0. If it it a number (c) you can multiply it by the x you factored out...- DCASH88

Power Series Representation of a Function Help
[b]1. Homework Statement : Find the power series for the function f(x)=5/(7-x), centered at c=-2. [b]2. Homework Equations : a/(1-r) [b]3. The Attempt at a Solution : I know that I need to divide by seven to get (5/7)/(1-(x/7)) and then rewrite in the form the sum of (a)(r)^n. I tried adding 2...- DCASH88
