    Question on calculating RMS speed

molecular motion is invisible in itself. when a small particle is suspended in a fluid, bombardment by molecules makes the particle jitter about at random.Robert Brown discovered this motion in 1827 while studying plant fertilization. Albert Winstein analyzed it in 1905 and Jean Perrin used it...

Mastering the e^x Integral: Tips and Tricks from Eiano

Anyone else? (i KNOW my u can't be 25+e^2x, that's what th OR WHAT was for) but HAHA, u were so funny with that response.. haha

Mastering the e^x Integral: Tips and Tricks from Eiano

Hey, everyone I am working on a calc problem, and I have no idea where to start. The integral is e^x ------------- [division problem] (25+e^2x)^4 Do I let my u equal to the 25+e^2x? or what... then after that what do i do. Thanks for all the help in advance. -Eiano

How Does Horizontal Force Affect an Object's Vertical Velocity?

ohhh i didn't mean to put in 5 as the mass :) so i have to find the initial velocity first? it's not just 7 huh... then find the final V and doo Vector addition, ok thank you all very much!

How Does Horizontal Force Affect an Object's Vertical Velocity?

I have this problem that says a 3 kg object has a velocity of 7.00m/s j (vertical, right?). Then a total of 12.0Ni (horizontal) acts on it for 5 seconds. What is the objects final velocity. I know that the equation is Ft=mvf-mvi I could just plug everything in, but what's bothering me is...

What is the trajectory of a ball thrown from a building?

Hello! I've been working on this problem for a while and our book doesn't have a solutions manual. It has 4 parts to it and I've solved 2 already, (I think) and the last 2 are just getting to me. -A ball is thrown from the top of a building and is given an initial velocity of 30 m.s...

Solving Physics Problem: Find Coefficient of Friction

Okay, so for 1b.) since it's at equilibrium, the sum of the forces must be equal. (err, must equal 0)? Fs= (uS)(N)? Fs= (.22)(25) Fs=5.5? Is this good or am I still missing something. and thanks for correcting my error on 2. :blushing:

Solving Physics Problem: Find Coefficient of Friction

Hello all, I'm new to this site and think it's a great idea to have a Physics site to help with, b/c we all know physics is the devil... (j/k) :) Anyway I have this problem which I think i figured out but want to be sure. Suppose a block of mass 25 kg rests on a horizontal surface...
