I have taught in Ireland, England, Ghana, Brazil, Hong Kong, Swaziland and USA. I am particularly interested in textbook representations of Physics, many of which are dubious. I work on a set of precepts: a single concept should have a single name and symbol; separate concepts should have separate names and symbols; a scalar quantity should not be ascribed vector characteristics; something that is difficult to explain and understand should not be replaced with something that is easy to explain and to understand but that is not valid. I apply this most specifically to classical mechanics up to first-year college level.
