High School Why I think radians should *not* be dimensionless
As most know and rest can find out, radians are a dimensionless unit. Actually, it's even worse: angle in general is a dimensionless quantity. That stems from it being defined as a ratio of the arc versus the radius. I now present my opinion of disagreement to this concept. In the strict...- Gmen

Graduate Torque opposite in direction to change in angular momentum?
First, this was very interesting and thank you for the researched it triggered to me. Second, I totally disagree with Simon. OP never implied change in rotational direction. Now, for my opinion which is certainly incomplete. We all know a cone will generally do that z-rotation. However, I... -

Kirchhoff's 2nd Law: Terminal PD Calculation Homework
I have never solved such an exercise, but since you provide the answers, I would guess the folllowing: Cell B is connected reversely in the circuit. Thus, the pd of B is actually the voltage DROP it contributes to the circuit. Thus, its resistor actually enhances its pd. Indeed, if you swap...- Gmen

Is Enveloping the Worm Gear Necessary for Optimal Tooth Contact with Spur Gears?
Thank you for your interest. As soon as I finish the 3d model I'm making, I shall be able to provide some pictures to better illustrate what I'm asking.- Gmen

Graduate Solve Indefinite Integral (x/c) arcsin dx/tan(x)
This was a really helpful idea. Differentiating is always easier (and possible!) than integrating, and it becomes just a matter of loveable polynomial integration! Thanks! I shall remember this in difficult integrals to come. -

Graduate Solve Indefinite Integral (x/c) arcsin dx/tan(x)
I would like to know the following indefinite integral: (INTEGRAL)arcsin(x/c) dx / tan(x). c is a constant. This is not homework...I found it in fron of me while trying to make a 3d model of an enveloped worm gear. I can explain to anyone who isn't bored. PLEASE tell me there is a solution...I... -

Is Enveloping the Worm Gear Necessary for Optimal Tooth Contact with Spur Gears?
I wanted to exchange some opinions about worm gear enveloping. I am designing a worm gear 3d model and, putting the appropriate amount of thought in it, some interesting points arise. One may either: 1) Envelop (is that right?) the worm gear helix, so that its radius increases from the gear's...- Gmen

Calculating Inertia at Output: Motor with 140gcm2 Rotor Inertia & 71:1 Gearhead
Let me make a try. By rotor inertia you mean the rotor's moment of inertia, I suppose. This is a characteristic of the rotor and does not change. It sounds like asking how much the mass of a car would change depeding on its engine (or gearbox ;) ). What/why are you asking such a question?- Gmen
