High School Create a Laser Listening Device: Get Started Here!
I saw a demo lecture where the professor was showing us a laser listening device he'd built - he shone the laser at the clock at the back of the lecture hall and you could hear the mechanism ticking amplified through the device. I'm pretty sure he built it himself -

I'd think it was something to do with the number of days in the year that they believed was correct at the time. Also it is easy to divide it up I guess... I'm not too good on the history of science...- gregmead

ok, well I haven't really studied QM for long enough yet, but I think that there is a smallest distance an object can move - maybe it isn't planks length...I can't remember, but it would need space to be quantised which I don't know if it is... I guess we need one of those crazy theoretical... -

hmmmmmmm... yea I think I'm gunna have to simplify this a bit :-S I am talking about potting all the balls off the break, which I think might be possible assuming there is no upper limit to the speed you can hit the ball, because couldn't they just all bounce around until they go in ? Greg -

well I guess if you want to do a specific problem you'd have to work out how many pieces the grenade is going to split up into and then somehow prove that they are all receding from one another... assuming it is a spherical scattering it should be fairly easy...- gregmead

hmmm, yea I think I'll assume that the balls wouldn't deform at all on impact (or explode), and just assume that its a superhuman that's hitting the cue ball. The ball will stop eventually because of friction, but I want it to only pot all of the balls of the player taking the shot, so...
