Solving Schrodinger's Eqn for Quantum Ring: Boundary Conditions?

By quantum ring, I'm referring to something like a quantum wire looped around in the shape of a ring.

Solving Schrodinger's Eqn for Quantum Ring: Boundary Conditions?

    When solving Schrodinger's eqn for a quantum ring, what would be the boundary conditions? The solution (polar) should be Ψ(Φ) = A exp(ikΦ) + B exp(-ikΦ) And I believe the boundary conditions are Ψ(0) = Ψ(2pi) Ψ(0) = A + B Ψ(2pi) = A exp(ik*2π) + B exp(ik*2π) and I suppose I can...

Finding an object in an array

As they say, DISREGARD THAT, I SUCK ... What an incredible epiphany. I guess I just needed some rest. A valid row would be characterized by two consecutive non-zero cells that would be either in the areas from cells 20-25 or 40-45.

Finding an object in an array

Finding an "object" in an array Say I have a vector of 64 cells. Each cell can have a value of 0-7 (each represents a color). Inside this vector I may have an "object" which would be defined as a set of consecutive non-zero (zero=black) cells with the same value. The object is no longer than 45...

This is my dilemma... game programming... or going for a major in some field of physics which could help humanity a bit more than game programming would :). Or become a Computer Hardware Engineer? awww god... try learning the new XNA framework from microsoft, it is pretty easy! (you should...

just using Georgia Tech as an example of an averagely of fairly good universities, I tried to look for the requirements and this is what I found: http://www.admiss.gatech.edu/transfer/coursereqs.php Now, this doesn't mention any Humanities, etc. for any of their Majors branches. Are the...

Hydrofluoric Acid + Silicon Dioxide Reaction Explained

ohhh man i do really bad in these. You pretty much have to memorize lots of rules. I can answer #2 though, since O = -2 and the substance is a solid, then the compound is not an ion thus Si being 4+ . Or...just count from left to right in periodic table. Noting that Si was the cation.

Well, hopefully my chances will increase over the next 2 years. Next year I am going to this program my local community college (miami-dade community college) has. It's the "School for Advanced Studies". Seems pretty challenging (though i pretty much owned the test i had to pass to get in it)...
