Single crystal and poly crystal metal

my ans is:If the material were a single crystal, the yield stress would be lower. The dislocation could move easily because there is only 1 crystal. In addition, single crystal metals have directional stiffness. But I'm not sure about that

    Proof stress and yielding behaviour

Discuss how well the proof stress describes a material’s yielding behaviour. Explain why we use proof stress as a measure of yielding.

Single crystal and poly crystal metal

What difference would you observe about the yield stress, young modulus, etc if your material were a single crystal? Explain the difference.

Measuring Elastic Modulus of Materials in Tensile Testing

What could you do to obtain a more precise measure of the elastic modulus of a material in tensile testing?

    Proof stress of aluminium alloys

Discuss in terms of the possible microstructural differences how the proof stress of the aluminium alloy tested in bending could be greater than the proof stress of the alloy tested in the tensile machine. (Be specific to aluminium alloys)
