Undergrad Black hole - frequencies used for viewing
Hey, In space missions why do they choose different frequencies for viewing stars? For example why do they choose both 43 GHz and 230 GHz to view a black hole? Cheers!- isha89

Undergrad Is a black hole a quasar or blazar?
Hi, Is Sagittarius A* the black hole a quasar or a blazar? As far as I've understood, AGNs are quasars, blazars or seyfert galaxies. Can someone please explain how the shockwaves/knots in the jets emitted by black holes can be detected?? Thanks :)- isha89

Graduate How is the gain of a radio antenna at 230GHz calculated?
Well, the resolution of millimeter and submillimeter wavelength VLBI is well matched to the scale of inner disk physics. Base- lines from Hawaii or Western Europe to Chile provide fringe spacings as small as 30 μas (3 RS) at 230 GHz and 20 μas at 345 GHz. Millimeter VLBI thus has the potential...- isha89

Is it feasible to perform space VLBI at 230 GHz? Also how does one detect the radio jets at 230 GHz?- isha89
