Where does this voltage come from?
I am assuming it is 0.7 V because that is the Vbe when the BJT is active, but could you give a brief the process of how to analyze this circuit?- jean28

Where does this voltage come from?
Hello guys, I had a quick question about one of the exercises of my electronics book. Step #1 says that I should do: (5 - 0.7)/(10 + 101 * 1) = 0.039 mA However, I can't seem to find where the 0.7V comes from. I simulated the circuit in Multisim and I'm measuring the voltages everywhere...- jean28

Simple program in assembly using Tiva C launchpad?
Hey guys! I just got a new Tiva C MCU. It's architecture is ARM, and I have no experience programming in assembly using said architecture. To start, I'm trying to run a simple program that puts a value in a register. In an MSP430, the project I'm trying to do would look something like this...- jean28

Should Computer Engineers Take Extra Electrical Engineering Courses?
Hey guys, I'm an undergrad in computer engineering. This past summer I worked as a research assistant in the robotics GRASP Lab at the University of Pennsylvania. This experience with robots has driven an interest in me in Control Systems (a class that computer engineers don't usually take)...- jean28

Benefits of learning about networking?
Hey guys! I'm taking a course this semester on Networking Fundamentals. Our professor has given us the opportunity to be able to take tests by Cisco to become CCNA certified for free. I don't know much about networking yet, so I was wondering how much of a big deal it is to be a CCNA...- jean28

Simulating a NAND/AND gate in Emitter Coupled Logic?
Homework Statement I need to simulate a AND/NAND gate with Emitter Coupled Logic. As I'm sure that most of you know, ECL is mostly used to make OR/NOR gates, so finding out how to make a NAND/AND gate is not as easy as it sounds. Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution I...- jean28

Value of Vout in PMOS Inverter?
Hey guys. I am simply trying to derive the equation for Vout in a PMOS inverter (attached). I know that in an NMOS inverter (which has the resistor in top of the transistor instead of the bottom) the equation for Vout is: Vdd - id*rd. But how does the resistor being in the bottom change...- jean28

Good PDF Merger program or site?
Hey guys. I need to merge about 7 PDF's but a few of them are about 80MB in size. I've tried a few good PDF pages from around the web but they all seem to have about 50MB in limit. Could anyone suggest me a good program that has no limitations to size of PDF's? Preferably free but if not...- jean28
