Finding Magnetic Field: A Circular Path Challenge

yeah, I was going to say that the other formula makes more sense. So much about Physics seems arbitrary right now. Like, gravity. There's no real reason why 2 masses attract one another.

What is the altitude of the plane?

No, I'm saying the distance from you to the point directly above you at the height where the plane passed. I'm not saying I'm right though. If a sonicboom works this way, then I am probably wrong -> upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b3/Sonic_boom.svg I just assumed the sound might...

What is the altitude of the plane?

Why would you do that? D=VT works just fine for this situation.

What is the altitude of the plane?

And why would you put the speed of the jet into D=VT? You put T as the time it took the SOUND to reach you from the point it was exerted(which we will call point A), so you should probably put V as the speed of sound. This will tell you how far away Point A is, which will tell you how high up...

What is the Direction of Current Flow in a Parallel Conducting Wire?

So I don't get it. Why would the MF Lines attract or repel the electron anyways? Wouldn't the electron fall into a sort of circular magnetic orbit, and then get flung away because of inertia when it tries to change direction? If I explained that badly, look at this picture...

Finding Magnetic Field: A Circular Path Challenge

Perpendicular? I don't even know how that happens. Does "Perpendicular to the Velocity" just mean the object is turning? How does Accel go about being perpendicular to Velocity? try to give an example? Because I assumed that the object maintained the same speed (1.10 x 10^4 m/s), in which case...

Finding Magnetic Field: A Circular Path Challenge

Lol maybe you should've done a bit more research, at least to figure out the needed formulas. Wikipedia is often a good source. F=ma...How would you go about finding the Acceleration? Are you finding the Accel of the Ion? And if so, does it even HAVE an acceleration?

Calculate Gravitational Force at Distance R/2.41 from Star 1

Very true, if gravity is the only relevant force.

What is the Direction of Current Flow in a Parallel Conducting Wire?

Um, that's really weird, cause when I read the question, I assumed that it was just a random electron. So if it is, and its floating near a wire, I think that the electron would go towards the wire as soon as it is turned on, no matter what direction the current is flowing. Of course, I don't...

Calculate Gravitational Force at Distance R/2.41 from Star 1

And technically, the force of gravity on something is NEVER 0. Although the Net Force can make it seem so. And it could just get to a point so low that its almost irrelvant. But the gravitational force between objects can't be zero, no matter how far apart they are. So I think you should have...

What is the altitude of the plane?

Ok, well, to start, are you sure that 343m/s is the correct number? Because it varies depending on temperature, humidity and many other factors. It would probably be helpful if it was one of the givens.
