I have 2 questions about limits :
1)Evaluate : lim as x approaches infinity for
(3x-4-4x^2) / (x^2 -16)
2)Evaluate: lim as x approaches -27 for
(27+x) / ( 7/2 + 3 )
thank u.
Find the points on the graph of y= (1/3)x^3-5x- (4/x) at which the slope of the tangent is horizontal.
what i know:
- we have to use m=[f(a+h)-f(a)]/h
- if we change the equation we can get 3x^4 - 15x^2 -12
- the slope of the tangent is zero.
THANX
there is no max. value, and by the way the answer at the back of the book is : 1,2,3,4(for y=5) and 1,2,3,4,5,6(for y=7) and 1,2,3,...,n-1( for y=n).
but i still don't understand what these answers mean.
Hi, I'm taking calculus this sem, and i have a question on stuff pre calculus.
If x and y are natural numbers and y[less-than]x, then whole numbers q and r must exist such that x=yq+r.
a)what is the value of r if y is a factor of x? IT IS ZERO
b)If y is not a factor of x, what are the...
i don't know if I'm right , but the computed values i got from Fc/Freq.^2 are the same as the radii , and i got a line where it almost passes through 3 points out of 4 , and the last point is far away from the line , as in the picture attached

well in this lab we had to spin a string with mass ( which is constant 20 g) attached to its end above us and this is what it says in the lab:
In this part of the experiment, we will calculate the centripetal force and the radius of the circle with frequency as the constant.
1) Adjust the...
hi I'm a new member in this forum and I'm taking physics(University level) grade 12...in one of our labs about the relationship between centripetal force and radius, we must use a constant centripetal force( we used 2N) and find the frequency in RPM for different radii, and this is what we got...
