Hi,
My question in my Stewart Calculus book is the same as
http://faculty.tru.ca/smcguinness/M317W11/M317W11quiz4sol.pdf
However when I work out the solution I seem to get a different value. My solution is
integral from 0 to 2pi 16 <2cos^2t,2sin^2t,cos(t)sin(t)>
64 integral from 0 to 2pi...
Hi I am trying to find the gradient function of
f(x, y) = 2*y^3+y*x*2+7/2 y^2+x^2
I have worked out the answer to be
d/dx = 2*y^3+2*y*x+7/2*y^2+2*x
d/dy = 6*y^2+x^2+(7/2)*2*y+x^2
Can someone please check this to make sure I have done the partial derivatives correctly as I am unsure if they...
Thanks for the help
The answer I worked out to be was
(10*t*i+6*t*j-5*k)/(sqrt(136*t^2+25))
I at first got it wrong because I tried this answer
(10*t+6*t-5)/(sqrt(136*t^2+25))
But that didn't account for the i,j,k in the original vector hence the answer is...
A particle moves such that its position vector, as a function of time is
r(t) = (5*t^2)*i + (3*t^2)*j − (5*t)*k
Im trying to find the unit tangent to the trajectory as a function of time. However I can't seem to find any formula of how to do this.
Can someone please help me with a formula or...
Apologies the curve is actually.
r(t) = 2*t*i + 2*t^2*j − 2*t^3*k
I provided the wrong equation from something else I was working on. I was wondering why it indeed looked odd :/ Does this look better??
Im trying to combine this domain into something of the form a>b and b<c however I cannot seem to convert this equation :/
Is it possible to convert this domain into a single expression??
The domain is
sqrt(x^2+y^2-1)>0 and 1<= x^2+y^2 <= 20
any ideas?? I've encountered this problem many...
For the curve defined by
r(t) = 3*t*i + 2*t^2*j − 3*t^4*k
Find the tangent vector r′(t0) at the point P(4,8,−16), given that the position vector of P is r(t0).
and
Find the vector equation of the tangent line to the trajectory through P.
Im unsure as to how to go about solving this. I've...
z1 = −11+2 i and z2 = −1+13 i are given
I need to find the following in the form x + y i.
conjugate of z1 =
conjugate of z1z2=
z1/z2 =
a) how would i go about it
and
b) can someone provide the solutions to the questions if possible
