Programs Can I Thrive in Physics? Advice for Choosing a Major
I like to read those books too and I can read a lot of them. I learned physics in Uni, but I didn't like it so I changed my major to mechanical engineering. I didn't regret it. Reading popular science and reading real physics books are two different things.- microMRI

Admissions How can I be sure I'm applying to a school I can get into?
Are American grades inflated somehow or the exams are too easy? I read somewhere that in UK first class honors is 70%. My current Uni in Germany would give me the best grade (1.0) if I could get above 95% (no other way) and I just know a guy who could get 1.0 in most of the subjects (very rare)...- microMRI

Engineering MS in Physics with Civil Engineering Degree
I have taken both physics and engineering subjects. At first, my major was physics. Right after the first semester, I changed my major into mechanical engineering because I realized I didn't like it. They are not the same. So I guess, you need to study tons of materials. It's not just physics...- microMRI

The Big Picture of Solar Research
I have offered to do my master thesis in solar cell simulation. Sometimes i wonder whether is it a good skill to acquire? Because another Professor wants me to work in his group of packaging technology which i am also interested in and i think more relevant to industry.- microMRI
