    Capacitance W/ Dielectric Problem

Ah I see. so if the dielectric were to be completely removed, the potential would be much greater b/c there is no dielectric to lessen the electric field between the plates. This would explain why there is more potential energy afterwards. Ok thanks. EDIT: Ui=(Q^2)/(2KCo) Cf=C1+C2...

    Capacitance W/ Dielectric Problem

How can one capacitance have a higher voltage than the other one? Shouldnt potential across a parallel circuit be the same? Sorry for any confusion.

    Capacitance W/ Dielectric Problem

A parallel-plate capacitor has rectangular plates of length L = 19 cm and width W = 3 cm . The region between the plates is filled with a dielectric slab of dielectric constant K= 4 which can slide along the length of the capacitor. Initially, the slab completely fills the rectangular region...

Solve Ball Drop Problem: Find Initial Velocity

OK, I am a little confused. If I substitute T in T=(Vo+4.9)/(Vo-9.8) in terms of H, I would still have two variables, Vo and H.

Solve Ball Drop Problem: Find Initial Velocity

What I meant to say was equation is that I set up: H+Vo(T+1)+1/2(-9.8)(T+1)^2=H+1/2(-9.8)(T)^2 And from there I found T. However I am having trouble finding Vo.

Solve Ball Drop Problem: Find Initial Velocity

Hi, I appreciate it if someone can reply and help me out with this problem. A ball is thrown straight up from the edge of the roof of a building. A second ball is dropped from the roof 1 second later. Air resistance may be ignored. (a) If the height of the building is H m, what must be the...
