Gravitational force of a neutron star

Maybe I can make an analogy on the topic. Newtons formula speaks for itself, but to put it into another picture. Imagine you are on the surface of the sun with mass 1 sun. The suns radius is about 700,000 km. You have the whole mass of the Sun pulling on you. Since gravity gets weaker...

Black hole smaller than a neutron star?

A physical surface doesn't matter. A black hole is defined by its mass and the radius of the event horizon, because these are properties apart of the black hole. It is perfectly fine to state the radius of the black hole by the radius of the event horizon.

    Galaxy and Stars: Questions Answered

As stated before the long lived stars like M stars and white dwarfs not to mention neutron stars and black holes would hold on to the original gas mass of the galaxy and not give it back. So as more of those stars form the less and less gas you will have. In the end you will have very little...

Did Venus's Lack of Plate Tectonics Contribute to Losing Its Oceans?

If there was an ocean on Venus and there most likely was, then the ocean would of boiled away from the extreme heat caused by the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect caused by the high concentrations of C02 in the atmosphere. The water vapor then supposedly got broken up into hydrogen and...

    Photons and Space-Time Expansion

When you look out into space you are looking back in time. Nothing can travel faster then light, nothing can happen faster then light. Light travels at 300,000 km/s. When you look at the moon you are seeing it as it was 1 second ago or light seconds or 300,000 km., and the sun you see it as...

Is there a theoretical min. size/mass limit to a black hole?

According to Stephen Hawking, during the relative short time after the big bang, tiny primordial black holes could of formed in tiny extreme density pockets. These black holes should be around today if true, and evaporate into a xray explosions that could be detected by our instruments...
