    Another speed of light question

Doesn't an object's mass increase as it approaches the speed of light? Would I be able walk to the front of the ship if my mass was infinite? I have read enormous amounts of energy are required to accelerate an object moving at these velocities.

    Another speed of light question

Say I'm in a spaceship traveling 0.999999999999999 c I'm a bit curious as to how I got going that fast. I at this point decide someone should be steering the ship. I walk form the back of the ship to the front. What happens when I attempt to do this?

Newcomb's Paradox: Decide What to Do?

If marvo can't predict the future, closed box is empty, so picking both will always result in empty close box / 1,000 open box. If marvo can predict, picking close box will always result n 1,000,000 closed box. As marvo can predict, picking both will always result in empty closed box /...

    Philosophical definition of time

Time is a dimension of matter as opposed to a changing or flowing entity. Nothing can exist outside of the present in real terms, which encompasses the immediate sum of existence and is always now. As time does not flow or change, however, concepts such as past and future events do not...

Question - is it impossible for nothing to exist?

please excuse my fragmented thoughts on this topic.. if 'nothing' does in fact exist, would it not lack dimension? length, width, and height would have no meaning.. the known universe could easily fit within such a conceptual oddity.

Question - is it impossible for nothing to exist?

what happened to that which did not exist before the universe?

Question - is it impossible for nothing to exist?

question- Is it impossible for 'nothing' to exist? or can a point in space merely approach this limit? in other words be so close to zero as to effectively appear as such?

What is the Philosophical Explanation for Gravity?

The following is a theory offering a rationalization of the characteristics of gravity. ‘Nothingness’ can be defined as nonexistence which is not entirely true. ‘Nothing’ can exist between two points of any positive distance apart. The distance is measurable which serves to prove...

Is the present more than just a point?

I agree. As our perception of time is governed by how our brains process information it must follow that this sense is affected by a person's age.

Is the present more than just a point?

I suppose this would be a philosophical view of time... Time is a dimension of matter as opposed to a changing or flowing entity. Nothing can exist outside of the present in real terms, which encompasses the immediate sum of existence and is always now. As time does not flow or change...
