How would the period of a pendulum change if A)the string's mass was negligible and b) the stings mass had to be accounted for. I can think of arguments for both but can't find an equation or definate answer for either one.
I think the period will increase since I=I(string)+ml^2 and the period...
yes it is a freshman level physics 1 course. We have gone through forces and are just starting work and kinetic energy. The problem is written down exactly as it is in the book. I had a hard time with the way it was written as well that's why i needed the help.
Heres an example of how someone...
heres the problem:
A person pulls a heavy load of mass 37kg up the side of a building by using a frictionless pulley. The load travels up a distance of 7.5m. Take the load to move with ocnstant velocity and ignore any acceleration at the beginning or end of the move. How much work is done by...
Heres the problem:
A stunt motorcyclist rides with uniform speed on the inside rim of a vertical circular ramp of radius 8 m. How fast must the motor cyclist travel to aviod leaving the surface at the top of the loop.
the answer in the back of the book says 11m/s but I keep getting 8.9m/s...
