Speed of light and time travel

Yes, yes, that is quite mind-blowing actually, that we all in fact travel in time all the time (travel in time all the time? :D) But I meant of course the traveling twin being the time-traveller.

Speed of light and time travel

I was thinking about this topic and couldn't help but to realize that you can actually, in the popular meaning, travel in time. The twin paradox proves that in its essence. When the traveling twin comes back to Earth, he actually comes to the future Earth, from his point of view, him being only...

    Einstein's Relativity: Examining Simultaneity Theory

I see that I was wrong to try to grasp this intuitively, as this is obviously anything but intuitive. Still I try to unlock this somehow, it it even possible? To say - Oh I was stupid, now it's obvious? How does the light know? This isn't about some vagaries of perception, is it?

    Einstein's Relativity: Examining Simultaneity Theory

Can you then say which one of them is right? Can you objectively state when the actual photons hit the front wall? Was it at time t' (carriage observer) or t (embankment) where t' < t?

    Einstein's Relativity: Examining Simultaneity Theory

But how can the light not have to travel a longer distance to the front wall for the inside observer, even though to him the carriage is still? The light can't depend on the observer, can it?

    Einstein's Relativity: Examining Simultaneity Theory

Hi there. I have a little problem understanding this. If for the observer on the platform, the front of the carriage runs away from the light (as it actually does), so it does for the observer inside the train, right?
