How do I find the maximum and when it occurs for this min/max problem?

Sorry, I was being asked to find when it occurred hence we found the X point to be 3.333333 and then substituted it back into f(x) to find the corresponding y value. My problem was in how to use the PR correctely, but that's been figured out now. Thanks again. :)

How do I find the maximum and when it occurs for this min/max problem?

As it is in my textbook "." is what I am taught. Also those values you got don't seem to be the maximum (or minimum) values, nor can I obtain them by substituting them into f(x). Edit: My mistake, my factorising was done wrong. Should've looked like this: f'(x) = e^-^0^.^3^t(-0.075t +...

How do I find the maximum and when it occurs for this min/max problem?

    I'm having some problems with this following min/max problem. C= 0.25t{e^-^0^.^3^t} I am being asked to find the Maximum and when it occurs (t) Using the PR I obtained: 0.25t . {-0.3{e^-^0^.^3^t} + {e^-^0^.^3^t} . 0.25 Later by factoring 0.25 . e^-^0^.^3^t[(t - 0.3)] Now...

How to Apply the Product Rule to Find f ' (X) for f(x) = e^{4x}(1-2x)^4?

Thanks for the assistance, its much appreciated. :)

How to Apply the Product Rule to Find f ' (X) for f(x) = e^{4x}(1-2x)^4?

That is the Rule we have been taught, although your representation of it now makes a whole lot more sense than the method we are told to use. Thanks for that. Also factorising your equation gave: (4e^{4x} - 8e^{4X} (1-2x)^3 = -4e^{4x}(1-2x)^3

How to Apply the Product Rule to Find f ' (X) for f(x) = e^{4x}(1-2x)^4?

I'm not familar with that form of the product rule. I was thinking of: uv'+vu'

How to Apply the Product Rule to Find f ' (X) for f(x) = e^{4x}(1-2x)^4?

Sorry, I placed a totally different problem and had to go back and fix it.

How to Apply the Product Rule to Find f ' (X) for f(x) = e^{4x}(1-2x)^4?

Ok. However occording to the rule the problem should become: e^{4x} .-8{(1-2x)}^3 + {(1-2x)}^4. 4e^{4x} Where to go from here, I am not so sure.

How to Apply the Product Rule to Find f ' (X) for f(x) = e^{4x}(1-2x)^4?

I don't think I've ever heard, or been taught that rule before. Would you be able to elaborate on it?

How to Apply the Product Rule to Find f ' (X) for f(x) = e^{4x}(1-2x)^4?

Yes, find the derivative using the PR. The problem I'm having is that I cannot seem to simplify the problem after applying the rule. The answer to the above problem was: -4e^{4x}{(1-2x)}^3(2x+1) However a fully worked solution would explain what went on.

How to Apply the Product Rule to Find f ' (X) for f(x) = e^{4x}(1-2x)^4?

A problem which I'm sure is rather simple, however I cannot seem to simplify the equation properly to produce the fully simplified answer as written in my textbook. The problem being. f(x)= e^{4x}{(1-2x)}^4 Find f ' (X) All help is greately appreciated!
